視察研修を開催しました

We held “Study Tour”!

３月１２日(火)、視察研修を行いました。今回は、東京ソラマチでの自由散策の後、本所防災館（東京都墨田区）での自然災害体験をメインに行いました。まずは、レインコートと長靴を着用し、雨量50mm/h、風速30m/sで、何かにつかまっていないと飛ばされてしまうような危険な暴風雨を体験しました。都市型水害体験では、建物や車から脱出する際、水圧によってどの程度扉を開けるのが難しいのかを学びました。地震の体験では、関東大震災の時の震度６の揺れを体感、最後に火災により煙が充満した部屋からの避難を行い、口元をおさえたり、低い姿勢をとるなど、実際の避難を想定して行いました。普段はめったに機会のない災害体験をすることで、災害の怖さ、早い段階で避難することの重要性などを改めて考えることができました。

On Tuesday, March 12th, we held “Study Tour”. This time, after taking a free stroll around Tokyo Solamachi, we went to Honjo-Bosaikan, disaster prevention center (Sumida Ward, Tokyo) to experience natural disasters. Wearing a raincoat and rain boots, we experienced a dangerous rainstorm with a rainfall of 50mm/h and a wind speed of 30m/s, which would have blown us away if we didn’t hold on to something. In the urban flood experience, we learned how difficult it is to open the door due to water pressure when escaping from buildings or cars. Also we experienced a seismic intensity of 6 when the Great Kanto Earthquake. We evacuated from a room filled with smoke due to a fire at the end. We covered our mouths and took a low posture, simulating a real evacuation. We thought again about the horror of disasters and the importance of evacuating early.

在住外国人向け「介護保険制度講座」を開催しました

We held “Long-term Care Insurance Seminar” for foreign residents

２月１８日(日)、茂原市役所高齢者支援課から講師を招き、市内及び周辺地域で生活している在住外国人の人々向けに、「介護保険制度講座」を開催しました。　講座では介護保険制度の仕組み、介護保険料、介護サービスの内容と利用の仕方などの説明を「やさしいにほんご」と介護に関する専門用語を英語で説明していただきました。参加者の多くは日本人と結婚されているフィリピン人だったということから、家族には高齢者の人がいたり、ご自身も高齢者になっているということに加え、母国には日本のような介護保険制度がないということから、制度の利用の仕方などについて積極的に質問をされていて、活発な意見交換もされました。講師をしていただいた市の職員の方、受講者としてご参加して頂いた在住外国人の皆様、ありがとうございました。茂原市国際交流協会はこれからも在住外国人の皆様の生活に役立つ講座等を開催していきます。

On Sunday, February 18th, we invited a staff from Elderly Support Division of Mobara City Hall as a lecturer and held “Long-term Care Insurance Seminar” for foreigners living in Mobara City and its surrounding areas. The lecturer explained the structure of the system, long-term care insurance premiums, the contents of care services and how to use them, etc. in easy Japanese and occasionally in English. Many of the participants are Filipinos who are married to Japanese people. They sometimes asked questions and had been listening the lecture intently because they had elderly family members or there was no such system in their countries. I would like to thank the lecturer and the participants. MIFA will continue to hold events that are useful for the lives of foreign residents. 「令和６年能登半島地震」募金結果のご報告について　

Regarding the report on the fundraising results for “2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake”

令和６年能登半島地震により被災された方々への支援のため、１月２１日(日)に行われた国際交流パーティーで募金を設置し、皆さまへご協力をお願いしました。その結果、41,506円をお寄せいただきました。この義援金は、「石川県令和６年能登半島地震災害義援金」に振り込みます。

皆さまの温かいご支援に感謝を申し上げ、被災地の一日も早い復興を心より祈念いたしております。

We set up a donation drive at MIFA International Friendship Party on January 21th to support those affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, and asked for everyone's cooperation. As a result, we received 41,506 yen. This donation will be transferred to the "Ishikawa Prefecture 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake Relief Fund." We would like to express our gratitude to everyone for your warm support, and sincerely pray for the earliest possible recovery of the disaster-stricken areas.

国際交流パーティーを開催しました！

１月２１日(日)、５年ぶりの開催となる国際交流パーティーが開催されました。最初のプログラムはフィリピン人の会によるダンスパフォーマンス！キャッチ―な振り付けで思わず一緒に踊りたくなるような曲とダンスに会場は大盛り上がり。続けてハーモニカアンサンブルによる優しく美しい音色のハーモニカ演奏、中国出身の先生率いる太極拳サークルによる扇を使った優雅な演武、当協会の韓国語教室の先生によるバンド演奏に合わせた韓国語ソングの披露、最後は参加者全員で輪になって「茂原音頭」を踊ったりと、世界の文化を一度に楽しめる充実のパーティーでした。また途中には歓談の時間もあり、普段は交流のない方同士でも、国籍を超えて楽しくお話しをされていたことが印象的で、国際交流の素敵な瞬間が見られました。

On Sunday, January 21th, MIFA international friendship party was held for the first time in five years. The first program was a dance performance by the Filipino Association. It gets everyone going with the pop songs and choreography which make everyone want to move along. This was followed by a beautiful harmonica playing, an elegant demonstration of tai-chi and some Korean songs performed by the Korean language class teacher accompanied by a band performance. Finally, everyone formed a circle and played “Mobara Ondo” In this party, we enjoyed various cultures from all over the world. They are also enjoyed talking each other. We are happy to have a great opportunity of cultural exchange. Thank you for your participation!

各国紹介「イタリア料理教室」を開催しました！

１１月１８日(土)、レストラン『ペッシェ　アズーロ』のオーナーシェフ、池田征弘（いけだゆきひろ）さんを講師にお迎えし、イタリア料理教室を開催しました。イタリアの挨拶、食文化、学校生活など、池田シェフが修行中に経験した様々なお話からはじまり、その後、キノコとツナをたっぷり使った本格トマトパスタ作りの実演がありました。シェフから教わった調理や盛り付けのポイントを意識しながら、参加者の皆さんも同じレシピに挑戦し、とても美味しく出来上がりました。ご参加いただいた皆さま、ありがとうございました！

「日本語教室の活動ブラッシュアップ講座」を開催しました！

8月20日、9月3日と2日間にわたり、聖心女子大学教授の岩田一成様、横浜国立大学非常勤講師の嶽肩志江様を講師に招き、日本語学習支援ボランティア養成講座の一環として「日本語教室の活動ブラッシュアップ講座」を開催しました。

岩田先生からは、日本語教室の学習支援は対話学習を通し学習者にとって楽しい活動が大切であること、そのためには学習者にとって理解しやすい「やさしい日本語」を使用することに加え、必要に応じスマホ用に作られている翻訳アプリなどを使用し学習者との対話をより効果的に行えることを紹介していただきました。

また嶽肩先生からは、日本語学習教本に頼らずチラシ広告や絵教材等を使用した対話学習の行い方を紹介していただき、これまで外国人に対する学習支援が未経験だった受講者の人々にとっても、楽しく日本語学習支援が出来ることを学ぶことができました。参加してくださった皆さま、ありがとうございました！

日本文化紹介「浴衣着付け＆盆踊り」を開催しました！

７月９日(日)、日本文化紹介として、浴衣の着付けと盆踊りを体験できるイベントを開催しました。アメリカ、イギリス、タイ、ベトナム、中国、フィリピン出身の外国人の方も含め、２９名の皆さんにご参加いただきました。慣れない浴衣の着付けに皆さん苦戦されているようでしたが、周りの方と助け合って帯を結んでいる場面も見られ、とても良い交流の機会になったかと思います。浴衣の着付けが終わった後は、参加者全員で輪になって「茂原音頭」を踊り、お祭り気分でとても楽しいイベントとなりました。参加してくださった皆さま、ありがとうございました！

国際交流バーベキューを開催しました！

令和５年６月２５日(日)、会員と在住外国人との交流イベントとして、長柄町都市農村交流センターにて４年ぶりの国際交流バーベキューを開催しました。お肉、やきそば、フランクフルト、おにぎりなど、各班の皆さんが協力して焼いた料理はどれも美味しく、また途中、音楽を流して踊ったり歌ったりする方もいたりと、皆さま様々な楽しみ方をされていて、会場は大盛り上がりでした。参加してくださった皆さま、ありがとうございました！

講演会「テランガの国、セネガル～アフリカの人たちに、日本語を教えてきました～」を開催しました！

令和５年３月１８日（土）、JICA青年海外協力隊員としてアフリカ最西端の国、セネガルに派遣されていた経験をお持ちで、現在は中学校事務職員として働く傍ら、松戸市国際文化大使を務められる久保山三香代さんを講師に招き、講演会を開催しました。久保山さんが青年海外協力隊に興味をもったきっかけ、派遣が決定してからの訓練、セネガルでの日本語教育活動、セネガルの文化など、盛りだくさんの内容でとても分かりやすく楽しくお話くださいました。また、写真で久保山さんが着用しているドレスは、セネガルの民族衣装です。セネガルの人々はとてもオシャレ好きとのことで、お話の中でも、色鮮やかで様々な衣装の写真を見せてくださいました。参加してくださった皆さまには、セネガルというあまり馴染みのない国について知ることができて良かった、久保山さんのバイタリティに刺激を受けたなど、大変好評をいただきました。ご参加くださった皆さま、ありがとうございました！

視察研修（行元寺、市原歴史博物館）を開催しました！

新型コロナウイルス感染症の感染拡大により中止が続いていた視察研修ですが、３月１４日（火）、３年ぶりに開催することができました。いすみ市にある「行元寺（ぎょうがんじ）」では、ご住職の丁寧な説明を受けながら、「波を彫らせては天下一」と言われる、「波の伊八」の欄間彫刻を見学しました。躍動感あふれる彫刻に、参加者の皆さんは終始釘付けでした。その後、市原市に１１月に開館したばかりの「市原歴史博物館」を見学し、『「王賜」銘鉄剣』をはじめとした市原市に数多く残る歴史遺産を見ることができました。参加者の皆さんは解説をしてくださる学芸員さんのお話を夢中になって聞いておられ、意外と知らない地元の歴史について学ぶ良い機会になったと、大好評でした。ご参加くださった皆さま、ありがとうございました！

在住外国人向けイベント「防災対策講座」を開催しました！We held “Disaster Prevention Seminar for International Residents”

11月27日（日）、在住外国人の皆さん向けの防災対策講座を開催しました。茂原市役所防災対策課の職員を講師に招き、災害についての基礎知識、ハザードマップ、防災袋の中身、簡易トイレの作り方など、いざという時に役立つ情報をたくさん教えていただき、最後には非常食の試食をしました。フィリピン、タイ、ベトナム、オーストラリア出身の方など、多くの在住外国人の皆さまにご参加いただき、講義中は写真を撮ったりメモを取ったりと、皆さま熱心にお話を聞かれていました。参加してくださった皆さま、ありがとうございました！

On Saturday, November 27th, MIFA held “Disaster Prevention Seminar for International Residents”.  A staff from disaster prevention section of Mobara City Hall gave us a lot of useful information about disaster prevention: basic knowledge about disasters, evacuation map, emergency kit, how to make portable toilet. Also, we tried emergency food at end of the seminar. Participants came from a variety of backgrounds, including Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Australia. They were often taking photos and taking notes during the seminar and were listening to him eagerly. Thank you very much for your participation!

「各国紹介（アメリカ合衆国）」を開催しました！MIFA held “Introduction of American culture”

7月16日（土）、世界各国の文化を紹介するイベント、「各国紹介」を開催しました。今回は、当協会の「英会話カフェ」で人気の講師、アーロン・マーキスさんに、出身のアメリカ合衆国についてご紹介いただきました。出身地のカリフォルニア・ローズビルのお話、アメリカでの学校生活、交通事情、食文化など、さまざまなお話を聞くことができました。アーロンさんは、私たちみんなが理解できるよう、やさしい英語でお話してくださり、また親しみやすく優しい人柄で、参加者の皆さまはアーロンさんの楽しいお話に夢中でした。参加してくださった皆さま、ありがとうございました！

On Saturday, July 16th, MIFA held American culture seminar. Mr. Aaron Marquis, a teacher of MIFA English Café introduced us Roseville(California), his hometown, School life, traffic situation and food culture, etc. He is very friendly and he spoke in easy English, so everyone enjoyed the event. 「日本文化紹介（お正月フラワーアレンジメント）」を開催しました！Oshogatsu(Japanese New Year)style flower arrangement lesson was held on 12th December 2021!

2021年12月19日(日)、日本の文化を紹介する「日本文化紹介」を開催しました。今回は、当協会の石橋涼子理事が講師となり、お正月風のフラワーアレンジメントを教えていただきました。竹でできた器に、松や、バラ、アンスリウム、レースフラワー、菊などのお花を挿した、とても華やかでお正月飾りにぴったりのアレンジメントが完成しました。参加してくださった皆さま、ありがとうございました！

On Sunday,December 19th, MIFA held “Japanese culture seminer”. Ms. Ryoko Ishibashi, a MIFA director taught us how to make an Osyogatsu(Japanese New Year) style flower arrangement. It was beautiful with Bamboo cup and flesh flowers: Roses, anthurium, Queen anne’s Lace and chrysanthemum.  Thank you very much for your participation!

「各国紹介（中国家庭料理教室）」を開催しました！Chinese Cuisine Cooking Class was held on 8th December 2019！

2019年12月8日（日）、各国の文化への理解を深める「各国紹介」を開催しました。今回は、中国出身で当協会会員の飯塚永紅さんに、中国の家庭料理を教えていただきました。メニューは白身魚の蒸し物、水餃子スープ、蓮根とセロリのサラダ、白木耳とクコの実のスイーツ、茶碗蒸し。皮から作る水餃子にはちょっと苦戦しましたが、全体的に豪華だけれど意外と手軽に作れるレシピで、大好評でした。参加して下さった皆さま、ありがとうございました！

 On Sunday, December 8th, MIFA held “Cultural Understanding Seminer”. Ms Eikou Iizuka taught us how to cook Chinese cuisine. We tried to cook handmade dumpling soup, steamed fish with leek and ginger, lotus root and celery salad with rice vinegar dressing, sweet desert of white wood ear mushroom and dried goji berry. Everyone liked the georgeous but easy-to-cook receipe. Thank you very much for your participaticipation!

国際交流バスツアーを開催しました！

MIFA International Bus Tour 2019 went to Sawara to on 6th October.

2019年10月6日(日)、6ヶ国53名で親睦を深めるバスツアーを開催しました。
今回の行き先は香取市にある水郷の町・佐原。午前中は下総国一宮の香取神宮をお参りし、創業文政8年(1825年)東薫酒造の酒蔵を見学。午後はフリーで街並み散策をした後、小野川沿いの江戸風情の残る町並みを眺めながらのんびり舟めぐりを体験しました。
参加して下さった皆さま、ありがとうございました！来年もお楽しみに！

On Sunday, October 6th, MIFA friendship bus tour was held with 53 participants from 6 coutries. We went to Sawara in Katori city, which is well-known for its historical riverside townscape. In the morning, we visited Katori Jingu Shrine, which the head shrine of the appriximately 400 Katori Shrines around the Kanto area, and then, visited Tokun Sake (Japanese rice wine) brewing founded in 1825. After lunch, we walked around the town enjoying the Edo period atmosphere, and took bout tour along side the Ono river.

アメリカの大学生24名を週末ホームステイに受け入れました！

We hosted 24 universty students from US during weekends!

茂原市国際交流協会では毎年、IES米国大学連盟と連携し、アメリカの大学生を週末2泊3日のホームステイに受け入れています。 2019年6月21〜23日、今年は24名の学生が来訪し、茂原高校で学生と交流したり、睦沢町弘行寺で座禅の体験をした後、ホストファミリーと週末を過ごしました。最終日の送別会では、共に過ごした思い出を振り返りながら、すっかり家族同然になった学生・ホストファミリーとの別れを惜しみました。毎年生まれる新しい家族の絆とドラマに、運営スタッフも心がいっぱいです。 来年もどんな出会いがあるか、楽しみですね！

ホストファミリーはリピーターも多く、毎年新しい家族との出会いを楽しみにしています。

国際交流バーベキューを開催しました！

MIFA Friendship BBQ party was held on June 2nd, 2019！

2019年6月2日(日)、爽やかな初夏の晴れ空の下、6ヶ国52名が参加し、国際交流バーベキューを開催しました。長柄ダムの周りを約1時間ウォーキングして汗を流しお腹を空かせた後、長柄町都市農村交流センターのバーベキュー場で、お肉、野菜、焼きそば、焼きおにぎりをたっぷりいただきました。バンドの生演奏を聞きながら、ジュージューワイワイ交流を深めることができました。参加してくださいました皆さま、ありがとうございました！

Under the lovly early summer sky, MIFA held BBQ party with 52 particiants from 7 countries. Before BBQ, we did 1 hour walking around Nagara water-storage dam, and got very hungry! Then, we had delisious grilled meats, vegetables, Yaki-soba noodles, and Yaki-onigiri (rice ball). Enjoying beautiful sound of live music band, we had a good time all together. Thank you for your participation!

姉妹都市ソルズベリー市よりティンデイルクリスチャンスクールの生徒及び教員をお迎えしました！　MIFA welcomed students and teachers of Tyndale Christian School from the city of Salisbury in Australia!

茂原市の姉妹都市オーストラリア・ソルズベリー市より、ディンデイルクリスチャンスクールの高校生7名及び教員3名が来訪しました。4月12日(金)からの2泊3日の滞在中は、ホストファミリーの家庭にホームステイをしてもらい、オーストラリアと日本のお互いの言語や生活習慣について学び合いました。また、茂原中学校の生徒と一緒に本納絵馬の絵付けを体験したり、ホストファミリーと一緒に大多喜城での甲冑・着物の着付けを体験したり、抹茶と和菓子に挑戦したり、日本文化を実際に体験してもらいました。ソルズベリー市と茂原市の間にできた新しい家族や友達との絆が、いつまでも続きますように！

茂原桜まつりに参加しました！MIFA participated in Mobara Sakura Festival！

2019年4月6日・7日、茂原公園で開催された「茂原桜まつり」に参加しました。
天気に恵まれた桜舞い散る春空の下、野点を設け、抹茶と和菓子をお出ししました。
ご来場いただいた皆さま、ありがとうございました！

On 6th and 7th April, 2019, MIFA participated in Mobara Sakura Festival at Mobara park.
It was lovely spring weather, and sakura trees were in full bloom. We served Matcha tea and Japanese sweet in an open-air style tea ceremony. Thank you for your coming!

視察研修を実施しました！MIFA Study Tour was held on March 14th, 2019！

2019年3月14日（木）、理事及び会員28名で視察研修を実施し、牛久大仏と筑波宇宙センターを訪れました。牛久大仏は全高120メートルで、世界最大の青銅製立像としてギネスブックにも認定されています。大仏の周りでは浄土庭園や仲見世通りを見学しました。筑波宇宙センターでは施設見学ツアーに参加し、最先端の技術と広大な宇宙が秘める可能性に感激するとともに、1つの地球上に共に生きる世界中の人々のことを想い、国際交流の推進と多文化共生社会の実現の意義を改めて考えることができました。

On March 14th, 2019, MIFA study tour visited the Great Buddha at Ushiku and Tsukuba Space Center (JAXA) with 28 participants. The Great Buddha at Ushiku is recorded as the biggest bronze standing figure in the world, with a total length of 120 meters. There are Jodo-style garden and Nakamise shopping street around the statue. At Tsukuba Space Center, we participated in facility tour. We are very impressed with their advanced space technology and boundless potentialities of the universe, which made us think about the people all over the world living together with us on the earth and the significance of promotion of international exchange and realization of multicultural symbiotic society.

日本文化紹介（茶道）を開催しました！Seminar on Japanese culture of tea ceremony was held on 17th February, 2019！

2019年2月17日（日）、当協会の湯浅会長に講師を務めていただき、茂原市国際文化交流振興会の皆様のご協力のもと、茶道の体験講座を開催しました。湯浅会長は、千葉県茶華道協会の副理事長としてもご活躍されており、県内・都内での様々な行事で呈茶をされています。また、長生高校茶道部の顧問を務めるなど、指導経験も多数。講座では、茶道や茶器の歴史や、所作一つひとつに込められた意味についてお話いただきました。茶器の扱い方から歩き方、掛け軸や生け花等の部屋の装飾に至るまで、細部にわたって「おもてなし」の心が尽くされていることを知り、日本の生活文化であり総合芸術ともされる茶道の奥深さを学びました。
湯浅先生、茂原市国際文化交流振興会の皆様、ありがとうございました！

Ms. Yukiko Yuasa, chairperson of MIFA, taught us about Japanese culture of tea cremony. Ms. Yuasa is vice chairperson of tea ceremony(sado) and flower arrangement(kado) association of Chiba as well as adviser of tea ceremony club at Chosei high school. At the seminar, she talked about history of tea ceremony and tea ware, and the meaning of each graceful carriage during tea ceremomny. We learnt that “omotenashi” spirit (hospitality) indwells in every tea ware and posture, and were impressed very much with resonance of Japanese culture of tea ceremony.

宮田修氏講演会「モンゴルと私」を開催しました！ Mr Osamu Miyata delivered a lecture entitled “Mongolia and I” on 3rd February, 2019！

2019年2月3日（日）、元NHKアナウンサーの宮田修さんを講師に招き、「モンゴルと私」と題してご講演いただきました。宮田さんは、報道アナウンサーとしてご活躍されたNHKを退職した後、長南町熊野神社をはじめとする千葉県内の中小神社で宮司を務めるかたわら、毎年モンゴルにわたって子どもたちの日本語教育に携わるとともに、日本に留学してくるモンゴル人学生の支援にもご尽力されています。
講演では、宮田さんがアナウンサーから宮司になり長南町に移住した経緯や日々の田舎暮らしの様子、偶然の出会いがもたらしたモンゴルとの繋がりとその後の交流・支援活動について等、ユーモアたっぷりにお話しいただきました。また、日本の和を尊ぶ文化や、命の尊さについてもお話しいただき、学びの多いあっという間の2時間でした。
国際交流の素晴らしさを知るとともに、日本文化の美しさを再発見することのできた素晴らしいご講演でした。宮田先生、ありがとうございました！

Mr Osamu Miyata delivered a lecture entitled “Mongol and I”. Mr Mitaya had worked at NHK as announcer before he became the chief priest of Kumano shinto shrine in Chonan town. Besides, he goes to Mongolia every year and teaches Japanese to the local children as well as he supports Mongolian students studying in Japan.
In the lecture, he talked how come he had become the chief priest and enjoyed country life, and how come he had gotten interested in Mongolia and characteristics of the nation.
He also explained about Japanese culture of putting importance on“wa（spirit of unity or harmony）“ and traditional way of thinking of succeeding make chains of life.
We learnt a lot about the value of international exchange and the beauty of Japanese culture.
